From late-night coding experiments to a full-fledged engineering career, Juha has always followed his curiosity. What began as a personal interest in programming has grown into a passion for creating smart, efficient solutions that bridge code, electronics, and mechanics. Today, he brings that same sense of possibility and innovation to his work at Visionite.
“People at Visionite are among the best in their fields and extremely knowledgeable. The culture is open, and it’s easy to talk with colleagues about anything.”
Hi Juha! Tell us about yourself! Who are you and what brought you into the world of IT?
I’m an electronics engineer who started learning programming in my free time. I fell in love with it because it gave me a feeling of unlimited possibilities to interact with the world around me. With code, electronics, and mechanical engineering I can create some really cool things.
What technical areas are you most knowledgeable in?
I’ve worked with a wide range of technologies over the years. Lately, Node.js, TypeScript, and backend services in Azure and AWS have filled my workdays. In my free time, I’m learning how to run robotics in simulators.
What tech trends or innovations are you most excited about right now? Anything emerging that inspires you?
It’s hard not to be excited about AI. Beyond that, Rust seems very interesting—resulting in more performant and less buggy services with fewer resources. As an engineer, I also feel responsible for fighting climate change by using datacenter resources efficiently.
“It has been easy to feel right at home here.”
How would you describe the people and culture at Visionite?
People at Visionite are among the best in their fields and extremely knowledgeable. The culture is open, and it’s easy to talk with colleagues about anything. It has been easy to feel right at home here.
How do you recharge after work? What helps you find balance?
After work, I’m usually playing in the sandpit with my kid or throwing stones into the nearby ditch together. So, family time and spending time outdoors – like making pancakes at a fireplace, help me recharge.
What inspires you right now – professionally or personally?
Professionally, I’m inspired by the possibility of moving higher in layers of abstraction. With AI tools and better infrastructure components from cloud providers, I get more done faster and can focus on creating value for society while leaving low-level tasks to other agents. Personally, I’m inspired by new advances in robotics.
